“I have worked at Envoy for ten months. In my current role, I am responsible for Passenger Service, Baggage Service, VIPs and Lost & Found.  My main responsibility is caring for and leading the Agents at LAX in these departments.”

What is the significance of National Hispanic Heritage Month to you?

“Hispanic Heritage Month is significant for me because one of the great strengths that I have is knowing who I am and where I came from. Furthermore, I feel that being in a leadership role at Envoy inspires poker online freeothers with a diverse background, such as myself, to see themselves in a leader’s reflection.

Unfortunately, even ten years back, there wasn’t as much diversity as there is now. That inspires me to not only lead by example but to remember that we can achieve great things for ourselves and future generations.”

What is your cultural background and how do you like to celebrate it?

“My cultural background is Mexican American. I consider myself a Latina.

I love my heritage, and I love to celebrate it often by going to jaripeos (bull riding events), visiting Mexico and celebrating El Día De Los Muertos. Every year, I create an altar to celebrate those that have passed on to the afterlife.”

What Hispanic/Latino historical figure or person in your life gives you inspiration?

“A Latina that has truly inspired me and I absolutely adore is Frida Kahlo. Not only was she Mexican, but throughout her life, she was extremely resilient and an example of such a strong female inspirational leader.”

What’s one surprising fact others might not know about you?

“One fun fact about me is that in college, I studied how to read the Aztec calendar and learned the art of Aztec dancing.”
