{"id":11685,"date":"2019-07-23T20:35:46","date_gmt":"2019-07-24T01:35:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.envoyair.com\/?p=11685"},"modified":"2019-07-23T20:35:46","modified_gmt":"2019-07-24T01:35:46","slug":"captain-easton-takes-flight-envoy-pilot-day-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.envoyair.com\/2019\/07\/23\/captain-easton-takes-flight-envoy-pilot-day-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Captain Easton takes flight as Envoy Pilot for a day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Earlier this year, Envoy Vice President Flight Operations, Captain Ric Wilson <a href=\"https:\/\/www.envoyair.com\/2019\/03\/19\/aspiring-aviator-become-envoy-pilot-day\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">invited 8 year-old Easton Fryer to join Envoy as a Pilot for a day<\/a> after learning of his love for aviation, as well as his Congenital Heart Defect (CHD).<\/p>\n<p>After months of planning, the day finally arrived for Easton and his family to travel from Missoula, Montana to Envoy Headquarters in Irving, Texas for the adventure of a lifetime. Alerted in advance by Envoy Crew Scheduling, the flight crew on the Fryer&#8217;s flight greeted Easton and treated him to a visit to the flight deck where Captain Mitchell Cox gave him\u00a0a special gift: the wings off his uniform. Easton was ecstatic to receive this gift and meet a real life pilot!<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uFDTLFNy5vg\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3>A day to remember<\/h3>\n<p>On Friday, July 12 Easton, along with his older brother, Darton, and his parents, visited the CR Smith Museum, American Airlines Integrated Operations Control Center and the American Airlines Training Facilities where he got to see, first-hand, a day in the life of a pilot. Envoy\u2019s Capt. Justin Harris joined Easton in his journey, as well as Capt. Ric Wilson, and a representative from the American Heart Association of Dallas.<\/p>\n<p>The visit concluded with a special surprise for Easton &#8211; A chance to &#8220;fly&#8221; a real-life, full motion E145 simulator.
