{"id":12348,"date":"2019-10-09T10:29:35","date_gmt":"2019-10-09T15:29:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.envoyair.com\/?p=12348"},"modified":"2019-10-09T10:29:35","modified_gmt":"2019-10-09T15:29:35","slug":"girls-just-wanna-fly-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.envoyair.com\/2019\/10\/09\/girls-just-wanna-fly-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Girls Just Wanna Fly"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-12351 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.envoyair.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/girls-in-aviation-300x400.jpg\" alt=\"A group of girls pose onboard an Envoy E175 at Purdue Girls in Aviation Day \" \/>Over the weekend, the\u00a0Envoy team\u00a0participated in two separate Girls in Aviation events, just two weeks after sponsoring one\u00a0of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.envoyair.com\/2019\/09\/24\/envoy-sponsors-international-girls-aviation-day\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the largest Girls in Aviation Day events in the world<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, October 5, members of Envoy&#8217;s Operations Recruitment Outreach Team visited both Inter American University in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Purdue University for their Girls in Aviation Day events.<\/p>\n<p>Our team flew an Envoy E-175 aircraft to the Purdue University Airport to share their experiences in the field with girls grades 3-8. Attendees\u00a0were able to tour the aircraft and participate in various aviation-related activities and crafts.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, in San Juan, our recruiters were joined by members of American Airlines\u00a0at the\u00a0Inter American School of Aeronautics. There they met with girls and young women\u00a0interested in aviation and participated in creating personalized luggage tags.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our team was happy to support and mentor these young women,&#8221; said <strong>Andrew<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>La Susa<\/strong>, Envoy Director of Air Operations Recruitment. &#8220;Outreach is important, as we want to encourage the next generation of aviators.
