Winning the Customer Cup doesn\u2019t happen overnight. There\u2019s no magic potion that attracts trophies.<\/p>\n

At Billings International Airport (BIL), the Envoy team knows that it takes a \u201cfocus on the fundamentals\u201d to achieve greatness, said BIL General Manager\u00a0Sid Babin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe formula is easy: winning equals focusing on the fundamentals,\u201d said Sid at a party celebrating their second-quarter of 2022 (2Q22) American Airlines Customer Cup win. \u201cIf you have the basics down, winning and success will take care of themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n

As a two-time Customer Cup winner at BIL, Sid would know what it takes to win. His straightforward approach to teaching has resonated with the team at BIL, especially when it comes to safety.<\/p>\n

\u201cRepetition of tasks, training and safety briefings are important because it helps mitigate surprises,\u201d said\u00a0Autumn Briner<\/strong>, three-year Customer Service Agent.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing prepared also plays a big role in ensuring we\u2019re working safely,\u201d added Customer Service Agent\u00a0Ashton Zwetzig<\/strong>. \u201cThat means bringing extra scanners, extra vests, knowing the temperature outside \u2013 whatever it takes to have a plan.\u201d<\/p>\n

Empathetic at the core<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Planning and preparation can help maintain an operation that is safe and on time, which is crucial for our passengers, but the Customer Cup also rewards stations who excel in face-to-face customer service.<\/p>\n

\u201cGood customer service starts with empathy, which is another fundamental of this job,\u201d said Sid. \u201cWhen it comes down to it, people choose an airline based on how they\u2019re treated. If we can be empathetic, and give them a great experience, we\u2019ve hopefully created a return customer.\u201d<\/p>\n

By focusing on the fundamentals and working as a team, the Envoy team at BIL is in a good place to\u00a0three-peat<\/em> for another Customer Cup win this year. During the party, Envoy Vice President of Airport Services Kevin Ward<\/strong> applauded the team for going for another win.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis team does the little things very well, and that can easily add up to another Customer Cup,\u201d Kevin said. \u201cThese wins don\u2019t just happen, you have to earn it, and you have.\u201d<\/p>\n

What is the Customer Cup?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Customer Cup is a quarterly award and celebration organized by American Airlines to recognize stations that demonstrate the strongest performance in Customer Experience.<\/p>\n

How do you win?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Each station across the AAG network \u2013 both domestic and international \u2013 competes against others of the same size and operational likeness. Stations are measured by performance in several metrics, including:<\/p>\n

  • Departure Dependability (D0)<\/li>\n
  • Turn Dependability (T0)<\/li>\n
  • Baggage Performance (MBR)<\/li>\n
  • Customer Feedback & Airport Experience<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    What do stations win?<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Every quarter, winning stations receive the Customer Cup to recognize the efforts of employees at that station.
