Last October, Envoy employees in partnership with our colleagues at American, joined together in San Juan, Puerto Rico for a Girls in Aviation event, sponsored by the Women in Aviation International (WAI), Puerto Rico Chapter and the \u201cAlphas\u201d. The Alphas are a group of young and future professionals, ages 10-17 years old, who host educational seminars every quarter, with the goal of sharing career possibilities in aviation with the younger generation.<\/p>\n
This free event consisted of a panel of speakers, featuring Envoy Captain Carol Dow<\/strong>, Envoy First Officer Sara Hoffmann<\/strong>, American Airlines First Officer Camila Decamps\u00a0and Envoy Flight Attendant Neshmaida Sanchez<\/strong>.\u00a0Attendees could join either virtually, or in-person, to meet these professionals and learn about aviation, airplanes, drones, air traffic control, the aviation business, airports, engineering, etc.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was so fun and rewarding to connect with girls interested in a career in the aviation industry,\u201d shared Flight Attendant Neshmaida Sanchez<\/strong>. \u201cWe had positive feedback from everyone we spoke to, and I hope to see some of these girls working for Envoy and American in the future!\u201d<\/p>\n
