In celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month and the amazing folk at Envoy who contribute to our success, let\u2019s meet with Cynthia Valdivia <\/b>who is an Envoy Director of Customer Care at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). We\u2019ll hear all about her Mexican heritage and how she loves to celebrate El D\u00eda de Los Muertos.<\/p>\n

What is your Envoy story? <\/strong><\/p>\n “I have worked at Envoy for ten months. In my current role, I am responsible for Passenger Service, Baggage Service, VIPs and Lost & Found.\u00a0 My main responsibility is caring for and leading the Agents at LAX in these departments.”<\/p>\n What is the significance of National Hispanic Heritage Month to you? <\/strong><\/p>\n “Hispanic Heritage Month is significant for me because one of the great strengths that I have is knowing who I am and where I came from. Furthermore, I feel that being in a leadership role at Envoy inspires others with a diverse background, such as myself, to see themselves in a leader\u2019s reflection.<\/p>\n Unfortunately, even ten years back, there wasn\u2019t as much diversity as there is now. That inspires me to not only lead by example but to remember that we can achieve great things for ourselves and future generations.”<\/p>\n What is your cultural background and how do you like to celebrate it? <\/strong><\/p>\n “My cultural background is Mexican American. I consider myself a Latina.<\/p>\n I love my heritage, and I love to celebrate it often by going to jaripeos <\/em>(bull riding events), visiting Mexico and celebrating El D\u00eda De Los Muertos<\/em>. Every year, I create an altar to celebrate those that have passed on to the afterlife.”<\/p>\n What Hispanic\/Latino historical figure or person in your life gives you inspiration?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n “A Latina that has truly inspired me and I absolutely adore is Frida Kahlo.
